Expanded JCC Hours, Before & After Care Announced

The Harrisburg JCC expanded its hours and offerings currently available to members earlier this month.

Originally reopened for limited hours in early July, the JCC Fitness Center, Indoor Pool, Racquetball Courts, Basketball Court, and Locker Room are all now available for use.

“We are thrilled to be able to take the next step forward in our reopening,” said Terri Travers, Director of Sports, Fitness, and Recreation. “Opening our showers will make it more convenient for our corporate members to sign up to workout during lunch breaks and racquetball gets people to start competing in our building again.”

The basketball court will be open to members to shoot around.  Members must sign up to reserve half the gym.  Only members from the same family that live together may be at the basket together.  All people must be masked at all times.

The current hours, which began on August 15th are as follows:

Fitness Center
Monday - Thursday 6am - 7pm
Friday 6am - 6pm
Saturday - Sunday 8am - 2pm

Indoor Pool
Monday - Thursday 6am - 2pm & 4pm - 7pm
Friday 6am - 2pm
Saturday - Sunday 8am - 1:30pm

Members must still pre-register for all visits and complete the waiver found at www.jewishharrisburg.org/reopeningfaq.

In addition, the JCC announced that it will be offering Before & After Care for school-aged children this fall.

“We are very excited for Before & After Care,” said Lori Rubin, Associate Executive Director of the Jewish Federation of Greater Harrisburg. “We can’t wait to offer a creative, warm space for children to safely interact before and after school and when school is not in session.”
