When Jeanette Krebs was a little girl, she dreamed of becoming a writer. She did that, working for 15 years at a local newspaper.
When she wanted to do something more in communications, she worked for 12 years at Bravo Group, a public relations firm where she did communications work in everything from energy to government to children’s issues to health care.
Jeanette recently started her own firm where she puts all her skills together. Jeanette, who serves on the Community Review editorial board, recently founded Krebs Communications & Public Engagement, LLC based in her home in Susquehanna Twp.
“This is a growing time for me,” said Jeanette, who worked for more than a decade at The Patriot-News as a reporter, statehouse bureau chief, and opinion page editor, then several years at Bravo Group. “It’s both rewarding and terrifying.”
She said that her firm specializes in communication strategies, public relations, media relations, crisis communications, group facilitation, reputation management, social media, and advocacy campaigns.
Jeanette enjoys all aspects of public relations from writing press releases to strategizing. There, she stays impartial while bringing order to discussions as she guides participants toward a decision. She says she especially likes dealing with issues involving state government, an area with which she is familiar due to her newspaper reporter years at the state Capitol.
She’s still adapting to and enjoying working from her home office, where she disciplines herself to work on a regular schedule.
Her latest goal is to have Krebs Communications and Public Engagement recognized by the federal and state governments as a certified woman-owned business. She said that once that happens, she can pursue government contracts.
Jeanette is the widow of Barry Fox z”l and the mother of Sophia Fox and Anya Fox.
