CEO Letter 9.10.21

By Jenn Ross

Our community is known for being welcoming and warm to all. Still, we can always collectively open our arms a little wider.

Earlier this year, our Jewish agencies and synagogues launched our new community diversity initiative, Kulanu, with our kickoff program exploring how to be a more welcoming community to individuals with disabilities, featuring Rabbi Lauren Tuchman.

After a summer and High Holiday hiatus, we are returning with an exciting two-part series from 7-9pm on Mondays, October 18 and 25.

This series will feature Dorit Price-Levine, a trainer from Resetting the Table (RTT), to provide tools for our community to engage and grow through difficult conversations. We will be led through the lenses of Navigating Intergenerational Divides and Approaching Our Political Differences. Many of RTT’s trainings focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and these techniques can help you navigate more smoothly on any topic.

I hope you will join us for this meaningful opportunity. Past RTT trainings have helped me to develop skills to have these conversations both in my professional and personal life, and I know they will be of benefit to us as a community.

Please also think about broader opportunities that can be launched under the Kulanu initiative and/or any ways our institutions and community can be more welcoming. If you would like to get involved with the Kulanu initiative, please let me know at 717-236-9555 x3104 or

Have an easy fast and a joyous Sukkot!
